Yes! These millennials have been voting 3rd party, assuming a false equivalence between Gary Johnson & Bernie Sanders. Johnson is very conservative. Some good ads about it so hopefully the message is getting out
Saw this on Alex's Facebook. Such an awesome article. I agree. And as I sit here heartbroken today, wondering how this went so wrong, I can find a bit of comfort knowing that my circle of #nastywomen will keep pushing forward.
Brilliant article, Rachel. I didn't see it until after the election, and it feels even more profound now. I was one of those idealistic rebels when I cast my first vote at age 19 for Ralph Nader. Fortunately, Bill Clinton won that year, but never again have I voted third party. Among the many things I've wrestled with this week are my own naivete and complacency leading up to the election. I believed Hillary Clinton's win was a sure thing. I didn't become vocal until late in the campaign. And now, I wish I had done so much more. I have so much respect for all you did to get out the vote, Rachel.
Thanks all for your comments. Bearette - re-reading your message from 5 PM on Election day when there was still so much hope - painful. Amie - yes absolutely we #nastywomen will keep on keepin' on. Thank you Sarah. As I think I wrote on a comment on your blog, I didn't do all that much but in the last month I jumped in to the fight. Well at least we're all totally energized now, right?
