I think it is a good idea what you're doing, to present the (conflicting) beliefs of various close people in your lives. I like Grandpa Bill's view. What you wrote about Where the Wild Things Are (the movie) reminds me of the opening of Annie Hall...the 9-year-old worrying about the universe expanding. Art imitating art...thanks for sharing your experience with this.Rachel Federmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00954446214849444639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-89009055828422416.post-14186261911648319792014-03-19T14:34:18.166-04:002014-03-19T14:34:18.166-04:00I am smack in the middle of those death and afterl...I am smack in the middle of those death and afterlife questions too! I answer them mostly that it is something people just can't know, and that we all get to decide for ourselves what we believe happens after death. Mimi believes you go to a place called heaven, Grandpa Bill believed your body and spirit turned into atoms and rejoined outer space... I don't know what I believe. But WOW is that question so universal at this age! The last part where Alex mentioned the black hole... reminds me of the scene in Where the Wild Things are (the movie) where Max is feeling so disaffected with everything in his life and his teacher is going off on a monologue about the universe expanding and contracting and the sun being sucked back in... beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08250854676648700542noreply@blogger.com
